Robin Parker
Robin Parker has spent over 20 years in the Event & Hospitality industry including 14 years with the Tussauds Group where at Madame Tussaud’s he developed the highly successful Corporate & Special Events department, making Madame Tussaud’s one of the busiest and most profitable venues in London. He was also responsible for the set up of the events department at the London Eye. As a member of the senior management team for the London sites Robin also gained considerable experience in the management of major tourist attractions such as Madame Tussaud’s, The London Eye and Rock Circus.
More recently Robin has been with Newbury Racecourse establishing the racecourse as a prestigious venue for conferences, exhibitions and race day hospitality. Head hunted by Newbury to promote the new £9 million Grandstand Robin quickly established this excellent new facility as a major conference and exhibition venue as well as creating a season of themed Christmas parties which increased Decembers profitability seven fold in just two years.
Prior to Madame Tussaud’s Robin worked for nearly five years on board the cruise liner QE2 where among other things he ran the very high profile programme of entertainment.
Before taking to the seas Robin worked backstage at various theatres including a year at the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End and three years at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley where he gained experience in sound and lighting.
